Can I connect my washing machine to a hot water supply?
Issue
- Can I connect my washing machine to a hot water supply?
Applies to
- washing machines (integrated and freestanding)
- washer dryers
Resolution
We do not recommend connecting washing machines to a hot water supply unless this is specified in the appliance technical documentation.
Most of our washing machines have been specially designed for installation using a cold water supply (maximum 25 degrees Celsius).
Not all of the washing programmes always use hot water, if hot water is used on a low-temperature wash this could damage the clothing.
We are currently introducing new models supporting hot water source supply (maximum 60 degrees Celsius). The Hot&Cold connection allows you to use up to 50% less energy by connecting your washing machine to the centrally heated warm water supply or green systems such as solar-heated boilers. A new way to save energy and to care for the environment.
