How to take care of your AEG portable air conditioner
Resolution

Taking good care of your AEG portable air conditioner helps to extend its lifespan and enhance its performance. Regular cleaning and filter replacement ensure it continues to effectively clean the air in your home for years to come.
Cleaning the unit
- Unplug the unit.
- Clean the outside of the air conditioner with a soft cloth using lukewarm water and mild dishwashing liquid. Do not use harsh cleaners, wax or polish, as these may damage the unit.
- Before wiping around the controls, squeeze out excess water from the cloth. Too much water can damage the air conditioner.
Cleaning the filter
Clean your filter every two weeks to keep your portable air conditioner working effectively.
- Remove the filter according to the user manual. You can find your user manual here.
- Clean the filter with a brush or a vacuum cleaner.
- If the filter is very dirty, gently wash it by hand in water (maximum 40°C) and a mild dishwashing liquid. Rinse the filter thoroughly to wash away the liquid.
- Let the filter dry completely at room temperature before you put it back.
- Press the filter reset button. This will ensure you receive a notification when it is time to clean the filter again.
Draining the water
- Put a drip tray under the drain outlet to collect the condensation and protect the floor.
- Unscrew the drain cap.
- Connect the drain hose to the drain outlet and lead the other end into a drain that is placed lower than the air conditioner.
- Once all water has drained out, remove the drain hose and put the drain cap back.
Storing your portable air conditioner
Store your portable air conditioner if you won't use it for a long period of time.
- Empty all the water from the tank.
- Leave the bottom drain cap and rubber plug open to let any remaining water drain away.
- When the tank is dry, put the rubber plug and cap back on.
Check the user manual for more information about your specific model.
