Get started with your AEG robotic vacuum cleaner
Resolution
Before using your AEG robot vacuum cleaner for the first time, follow the steps below.
For more information about your specific robot vacuum model, check the user manual. You can find your user manual here. Make sure you set up the vacuum according to the instructions and read the safety precautions.
1. Download the app
With the AEG app, you’ll be able to control your robot vacuum in more ways. For instance, you can schedule your cleaning and set up cleaning zones.
Download the app in the App Store or Google Play. If you’re a first-time user, you’ll have to create an account. Sign in and follow the instructions to connect your robot vacuum.
2. Set up the charging station
Place the charging base on the floor against the wall. Make sure there is 0.5 metres of space on either side and 1.5 metres of space in front of the charging base.
The base needs to be in the range of the WiFi router so the robot vacuum and the app can connect.
3. Prepare the cleaning area
Your vacuum will clean under and around anywhere it can safely fit. Before cleaning, remove small and fragile objects such as clothing, curtain strings, and power cords from the floor. If the vacuum passes over a power cord and drags it, there’s a risk that an object could be pulled off a table or shelf.
4. Start cleaning
Start the cleaning process from the app or by pressing Play directly on your vacuum.
Good to know
- The robot vacuum detects stairs and steep edges, like height gaps between different floor surfaces.
- Always charge the vacuum after each cleaning and when it’s not in use. This will preserve the battery life and performance.
- Try not to interrupt the vacuum while it’s cleaning, unless there’s a problem. Interrupting it can affect performance.
- Always carry the vacuum with two hands, keeping the front with the sensor facing up.
- Strong light, mirrors, windows and shiny objects can make it difficult for the sensor to detect the surroundings. If you notice that the vacuum is struggling to understand the space, consider moving objects.
Now you know how to get started with your vacuum. By taking good care of it, it will last longer and perform better. We’ve put together a simple maintenance guide for you.
