Resolution
The external surface of your cooker hood is often the first thing people notice in your kitchen - and the first place where grease, dust, and fingerprints accumulate. Keeping it clean not only improves the appearance of your kitchen but also helps maintain hygiene. Here’s a simple guide to help you clean the outside of your cooker hood effectively and safely.
1. Switch Off the Power
Before you begin, ensure the cooker hood is switched off and unplugged (if possible) to avoid any electrical hazards.
2. Wipe Down the Exterior
Use a soft cloth and mild detergent to clean the outside of the hood.
Gently wipe the entire exterior surface, including the sides and control panel.
For stubborn spots, let the damp cloth sit on the area for a few minutes before wiping.
Dry thoroughly with a microfibre cloth or paper towel to prevent water marks.
For stainless steel surfaces, use a stainless steel cleaner to avoid streaks and maintain the finish.
Wipe in the direction of the grain using a dry microfibre cloth for a streak-free shine.
Avoid abrasive sponges or harsh chemicals that could damage the surface.
Clean the external surface weekly to prevent grease build-up.
