How to clean and maintain your AEG tumble dryer

Regularly maintaining your AEG tumble dryer helps it perform optimally to keep your laundry fresh and clean. It can also prevent breakdowns.
Checklist of recommended cleaning and maintenance routines:
After each use
- Clean the tumble dryer filter
- Empty the water tank
Every two-three months

How to clean the lint filter
Clean the lint filter after every use to optimise drying performance and prevent excess energy consumption.
- Open the door and pull up the lint filter.
- Push the hook to open the filter.
- Remove the lint from the inner and outer parts of the filter and throw in the dustbin.
- Close the filter.
- Place the filter inside the filter socket.
How to empty the water tank
Empty the water tank after each use. The tumble dryer will automatically stop if the tank is full.
- Pull out and remove the water tank (located in the upper corner).
- Pull the plastic connection out and drain the water into a basin or equivalent receptacle.
- Push the plastic connection back in and place the water container back into position.
- Put the water tank back in its position
- To continue the programme press the Start/Pause button.
How to clean the condenser
Check the condenser once a month and clean it when it’s dirty, or when the condenser symbol flashes on the display. This condenser ensures efficient energy consumption. Don’t use the dryer when the condenser is blocked, as it can damage the machine and increase energy consumption.

Cleaning the condenser on a heat pump dryer
- Open the door and pull the filter up.
- Open the condenser cover (located at the bottom of the machine).
- Turn the lever to unlock the condenser lid.
- Lower the condenser lid.
- If necessary, remove the fluff from the condenser and its compartment. You can use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment.
- Close the condenser lid.
- Turn the lever until it clicks into position.
- Put the filter back.
How to clean the drum of your tumble dryer
Clean the inside of your tumble dryer every two to three months to keep it fresh.
- Unplug your tumble dryer.
- Open the door.
- Clean the drum and the drum lifters with a damp towel and neutral soap.
- Dry the cleaned surfaces with a soft cloth.
How to clean the humidity sensor
Clean the humidity sensor every two to three months for optimal performance. The humidity sensor detects when the load is dry enough to end the cycle.
- Clean the sensor with a towel and neutral soap. It is located on the inside of the door.
- Dry the surfaces with a soft dry cloth.
How to clean the airflow slots
Clean the airflow slots every six months to ensure good ventilation and optimal efficiency.
Carefully remove lint from the airflow slots using a vacuum cleaner with a brush nozzle.
Tips and tricks
- Wipe the door seal off with a soft cloth after every use.
- Wipe down the outside of your tumble dryer regularly using mild soap and warm water to remove dust.
- If your appliance is placed next to your shower, bathtub, or washbasin you will need to clean it more often to avoid corrosion.
