AEG washing machine – how to reset the WiFi settings
Issue
Your AEG washing machine is already connected to a WiFi network, but you want to:
- connect the machine to a new WiFi network
- change router
- change Wi-Fi password
- register the machine on a new phone
- remove the connection to the app
- troubleshoot Wi‑Fi connection problems
In these situations, it may be necessary to reset the saved WiFi settings.
Applies to
- AEG washing machines with WiFi
- AEG washer-dryers with WiFi
- AEG app
Resolution
Follow the steps below to reset the saved WiFi settings on your AEG washing machine.
1. Turn on the washing machine
Press the On/Off button, and wait about 10 seconds for the machine to be ready.
2. Remove the saved Wi-Fi details
Press and hold the Remote Start button down.
Keep holding the button down until you hear the second tone (double beep).
The display then shows a reset message - confirming that the stored network information has been deleted.
Refer to your user manual for model-specific details.
3. Reconnect the washing machine
Once the reset is complete, the washing machine must be reconnected to the app.
- Download or open AEG app.
- Select Add product.
- Follow the instructions in the app.
- Put the washing machine into Wi-Fi setup mode.
- Connect it to your Wi-Fi network.

4. Check the Wi-Fi network
AEG washing machines support Wi-Fi networks on:
- 2.4 GHz
- 802.11 b/g/n
If your network only uses 5 GHz, the connection typically cannot be established.
Important
When the Wi-Fi settings are reset:
- delete the existing WiFi connection
- delete saved network information
- does the washing machine need to be reconnected to the app
The actual wash programmes and the machine’s other settings are not affected.
When is it not a mistake?
It is normal to reset the Wi-Fi settings if:
- you have changed router
- you have changed the WiFi name (SSID)
- you have changed your password
- you’ve got a new phone
- the washing machine no longer appears in the app
The problem is often due to the network setup and not a fault with the washing machine.
Cause
The AEG washing machine stores information about the WiFi network it has previously been connected to.
If the router or network settings are changed, the machine may not always be able to connect automatically.
A reset removes the saved network information so the connection can be set up again.
