How to remove transit bolts from your AEG washing machine
Issue
- How to remove transit bolts from your AEG washing machine
Applies to
- AEG washing machines and washer dryers (built-in / freestanding)
Resolution
Transit bolts (also called shipping bolts or transport bolts) are metal rods installed at the factory to lock the drum and suspension system in place during transport.
They prevent:
- Drum movement that can cause internal damage
- Shock absorber or suspension misalignment
- Broken hoses or cables
- Motor or counterweight damage
If you use a washing machine with transit bolts still installed, it will vibrate heavily, make loud banging noises, and can suffer permanent damage.
Please see the instructional video. For more information refer to the "Installation" section in your user manual or separate leaflet supplied with your appliance.
A 10mm spanner is used to remove the bolts.
We recommend that you keep the packaging and the transit bolts for any transport of the appliance.
